Patina's clothING {People In Need of Gifts} is a non-profit initiative dedicated to providing gently used & new, high-quality clothing and shoes to individuals in need. Our mission is to empower displaced people to feel confident and dignified, regardless of their circumstances. We believe that everyone deserves to look and feel their best, and we're committed to making that a reality.
BACKGROUND As a child, our founder struggled with the stigma of wearing hand-me-downs (really just the smell & non-tailored sizes) and shopping at second-hand stores. However, as an adult, they've been fortunate enough to receive gently used clothing and shoes from friends. This experience has inspired them to create Patina's clothING, which aims to pay it forward and provide similar opportunities for others.
OBJECTIVES *Provide high-quality, gently used & new clothing and shoes to individuals in need *Enhance the self-esteem and dignity of our recipients *Foster a sense of community and support among our recipients *Reduce clothing waste
REQUESTED FUNDING We are seeking funding to support the following initiatives: *Storage Rental: To rent a storage unit to store donated clothing and shoes *Clothing/Shoe Cleaning and Packaging: To clean and package clothing and shoes in fancy bags, making them feel like new *Van Rental: For monthly giveaways, allowing us to reach more people in need
